Low Thermal Conductivity Mullite Brick
The low thermal conductivity mullite brick is highly adaptable and suitable for key parts such as the calcining zone, tertiary air duct and precalciner of large and medium-sized cement rotary kilns. The product features six core properties: high strength, high wear resistance, high corrosion resistance, high refractoriness under load, low bulk density and excellent thermal shock resistance. Meanwhile, adopting the one-step forming process with a homogeneous structure, it solves the problems of low strength of traditional lightweight materials and mismatched thermophysical properties at bonding parts, achieving a more stable structure. It brings remarkable economic benefits: the kiln surface temperature is reduced by 50–80°C, the fuel consumption per ton of clinker is cut by 1kg; for a φ4.8m rotary kiln with a 40m lining, 1,650 tons of standard coal can be saved annually. It is 10% lighter than silica-mullite bricks and 20% lighter than magnesia-alumina spinel bricks, with a 31-ton reduction in procurement volume for the same lining length, greatly lowering procurement and operation costs.
